Slabs are complete

Units 3 and 4 and garage footings were completed today. This sets a new and crucial milestone in the project.
Bricks have been ordered so I have been told and the garages will be laid first before the prefab frames arrive for installation.

Start of 4 townhouse dev project - demolition

Some shots of backyard before demolition.

Demolition work by Graham and sons.
Contractual agreement was early October 2014. Waited for permit etc took weeks. The process of getting the work to start and actual bulldozing commenced around 17/11/2014.
Site leveled and hard waste removed and cleared week ending 12/12/2014. There were still grass closer to the front of the site which was picked up by builder. He also complained about grass along the fenceline and at back. Graham did the honourable thing of clearing and scrapped it out again. It was pretty much "cleared of vegetation" ready for the build job to begin. Unfortunately.. days turned into weeks and the grass started to grow back again.
The completed job.
The grass started growing back as can seen after a just a week of sunshine and showers.
After discussion with the builder, it was accepted that he will remove any required top soil that contained the grass and prepare for the slab box. This is what I call site prep and the responsibility of the builder.

4 townhouse dev build project - slab

After much delay with the Building Permit (3 months!) due to Insurance monopoly of QBE underwriters and their backlog of applications that the Building Surveyor requires.

The build was well under way at the beginning of week 9 Feb 2015.
Check out the photos to see with where things are at.

Units 2 and 1 slabs as well as garage footings completed on Friday 20/2/2015.

Units 2 and 3 garage footings can be seen here.

Units 3 and 4 have been boxed and meshed ready for concrete pour.

Water was leaking from the original house water pipe connected to the mains that wasn't capped off. It's the responsibility of the builder to do so and not the Demolition contractor.
Have originally requested he get the plumber in to do so at the beginning of February 2015 but obviously didn't so have firmly requested again over weekend on 21/2/2015.

Footings for unit 4 garage. Trenches dugged out right against the fenceline. Today 23/2/2015 was raining and wonder if the fence is still holding up.
